How Your IDX Real Estate Website Gets Built — Start to Finish in About a Week
We handle everything: website design, hosting, SSL, imagery, and MLS-licensed IDX listings — built around you, by a real person, not a template generator.

We handle everything: website design, hosting, SSL, imagery, and MLS-licensed IDX listings — built around you, by a real person, not a template generator.

Getting an OSI IDX website live typically takes about a week from sign-up to launch. You’ll work with a single onboarding specialist the entire time — they gather your branding and content, our team builds your site, we handle your MLS licensing paperwork for you, and you get a live walkthrough before your site goes public.
No coding, no design decisions you have to make alone, and no juggling multiple IDX website vendors.
Step 1: Onboarding (Day 1–2)
Your dedicated onboarding specialist reaches out right away during business hours. They’ll collect your logo, headshot, bio, and the cities or neighborhoods you specialize in — along with any preferences you have for colors, imagery, or site style. If you’d rather use video or transitioning images for your homepage graphic instead of static photos, just let your specialist know; it’s included at no added cost.
What you’ll need to provide: logo (or none — we can work with just your name/brand), a headshot, a short bio, your target service areas, and your MLS affiliation(s).
Step 2: We Build Your Site (Day 2–5)
Our design team builds your website on a private staging domain so you can review everything before it goes live — layout, colors, testimonials, listings, quick-search tools, and any custom pages you add. Because every OSI IDX site is semi-custom, you’re not locked into a fixed template; if something doesn’t feel like “you,” we’ll adjust it.
Step 3: MLS/IDX Licensing (Runs in Parallel with Step 2)
This is the step most IDX providers leave you to figure out on your own. We don’t. Our team directly facilitates the license agreements required by your MLS(s) so your website can legally display live IDX listing data. You don’t have to fill out MLS paperwork, chase approvals, or understand MLS-specific data rules — we handle the process for you.
Good to know: licensing timelines vary by MLS. Most approvals come through within the standard one-week build window, but some MLS boards take longer to process new IDX agreements — your onboarding specialist will keep you updated if yours does.
Step 4: Launch & Live Walkthrough
Once your site is built and your MLS licensing is in place, your website goes live on your domain. Your onboarding specialist walks you through everything on a live call — how your site works, how IDX search updates automatically every 10 minutes, and how to log into your admin portal to make changes yourself anytime (text, images, colors, pages, and more).
After launch, you’re not handed off to a ticket queue. You call, we answer. You email, we reply — the same team that built your site is who you’ll reach for support going forward.
Your site doesn’t go static once it’s live. All feature updates are included at no added cost — as we roll out new tools, they’re automatically available on your site. If you want a new page, a design tweak, or help adding a neighborhood, you can make many changes yourself through the admin portal, or just call your onboarding specialist.
How long does it take to get an IDX real estate website live?
Most OSI IDX websites go live within about a week of sign-up. Timing can vary slightly based on how quickly you provide your branding materials and how fast your MLS processes the IDX license agreement.
Do I need any technical or design skills to get started?
No. Our team builds your website for you — including design, imagery, and MLS setup. You review and approve everything on a staging site before it goes live, and afterward you can make edits yourself through an easy admin portal with no coding required.
Who handles the MLS/IDX licensing paperwork?
We do. OSI IDX directly facilitates the license agreements required by your MLS(s) to legally display IDX listing data on your site, so you don’t have to manage that process yourself.
What do I need to provide to get started?
Typically your logo (optional), a headshot, a short bio, the cities or neighborhoods you serve, and your MLS affiliation. Your onboarding specialist will guide you through exactly what’s needed.
Can I make changes to my website after it launches?
Yes. Every OSI IDX website includes access to an admin portal where you can update text, images, colors, and pages yourself at any time, at no added cost.
What if I have more than one MLS?
OSI IDX supports multiple MLS/IDX feeds on a single website for an additional $25/month per feed. Your onboarding specialist will facilitate licensing for each one.
